The Through the Gate acknowledges the evident challenges and losses one will face when released from the bars, so it strives to work with three main phases: Teaching, Sending and Equipping to give them the best tools to success.
New Leaf : Inmates from Monroe County Jail are New Leaf targeted clients for support service post- and pre-release. The New Leaf applies the Philosophy of Therapeutic Justice to encourage personal growth in transitioning them back to the society.
RecycleForce: The Recycle Force operates on the mission of creating “A cleaner Environment” and “A better Workforce” in the local community. With the revenue generated from its recycle activities, Recycle Force targets broader community impacts by helping incarcerated individuals obtain gainful employment and comprehensive social services.
SPA: The SPA Ministry Homes aims to assist women in addressing the roots as well as resolving the problems they encounter in life with a comprehensive and Christ-centered treatment program.
Tri-State Mens Center: The Tri-State Men’s Center supports the needs of previously incarcerated men in their path back to the community. Job placement, mental treatment and faith counseling are key components of this program.
Dismas House : The Dismas House works to promote the reconciliation between ex-offenders and the society. It develops a supportive community by specific methods including bringing together ex-offenders and students to live together as families, active involvement of volunteers as well as an emphasis on common good in decision making progress.
Volunteers of America Indiana: The Volunteers of America Indiana Corrections Program provides a holistic reentry service program that caters for physical, mental and intellectual needs of individuals coming from behind the bars, correctional systems, veterans, elderly and chronic substance abusers.
Hire Network Indiana: Founded in 2010 by the Legal Action Center, the National Helping Individuals with criminal records Re-enter through Employment (H.I.R.E.) Network works to improve career prospect for incarcerated individuals by improving public policies, opinions and employment practices.
Blue Jacket: In 2003, the Blue Jacket program was founded to address and resolve the critical and unmet needs of disadvantaged people with criminal histories. By providing sources of education, training and opportunities, the Blue Jacket hopes to bring about second chances of gainful employment.
Mayor’s Office of Ex-Offender Re-Entry: The Indiana Mayor’s Office of Ex-Offender Re-entry is targeted at creating collaborative partnerships among Government, Business and Faith-based organizations with volunteer network to leverage resources, enhance sustainable public safety, preventing crime rates and improving life quality for the ex-offenders as well as the community.
